Founded in 2001, Airdance is one of the country’s premier and pioneering companies in contemporary dance and the aerial arts. Home to prominent dancers, teachers, and choreographers in the Philippines, it is committed to providing a nurturing environment for creativity and excellence in dance. Airdance is one of the leading companies in a number of major dance festivals in Manila including the WiFi Body Dance Festival, Contemporary Dance Map, and International Dance Day. The company won the grand prize in the Mindanao Modern Dance Competition in South Cotabato and was awarded the "Best Young Contemporary Dance Theater Company," 2004. It was also awarded Best Dance Company (Modern) in the 2007 and 2008 ALIW Awards. Apart from its visible involvement in local commercial and corporate productions, Airdance has represented the country in various international dance events: World Expo in Japan, 2005, (E)motion Dance on Screen Festival in Indonesia, 2005, the 7th Asia Arts Festival in China, 2005, MAU: Japan-ASEAN Dance Project that toured Southeast Asia in 2013, and the M1 Contact Contemporary Dance Festival 2014 in Singapore. Airdance also has a dance school that offers regular classes and an annual summer workshop that is open to the public. The studio is also used as a performance space for the company's season. Currently, Airdance continues to create performances both locally and internationally, steadily becoming a visible forerunner in the industry.
